As a former prosecutor, defense and private attorney, John E. Avery has tried hundreds of probate, criminal and family law cases. John E. Avery obtained a B.S. in Management and Economics and Juris Doctorate in Law from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and an M.B.A. in Management and Finance from Golden Gate University. During his first five years of practice John E. Avery worked as a Law Clerk and Assistant District Attorney in the Clark County (Las Vegas, Nevada) and Dallas County District Attorney's offices where he learned the art of trying all types of prosecutions including the most serious Misdemeanor and Felony criminal cases.
In 2004, John E. Avery entered private practice. His successful practice has included defending persons accused of Federal and State crimes. John E. Avery has obtained dismissals and not guilty jury and judge verdicts in all types of criminal cases including but not limited to Aggravated Assault With Deadly Weapon, Robbery, Sexual Assault, Drug Conspiracy, Fraud, Medicare/Medicaid fraud, D.W.I., Theft and many others. John E. Avery has also successfully defended clients in all aspects of family law and probate cases.
John E. Avery is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Federal Bar Association, Tarrant County Defense Lawyers Association, Dallas and Tarrant County Bar Associations, the Texas State Bar and the National Bar Association.
